Virginia Family Gets Keys to Habitat for Humanity's First 3D-Printed Home in U.S.
The home uses 3D-printed concrete in lieu of lumber for exterior walls.

A Virginia family purchased Habitat for Humanity's first 3D-printed home in the U.S., constructed in partnership with 3D printing company Alquist. The 1,200-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom concrete house was built in just 12 hours as a home for April Stringfield and her son.
Janet V. Green, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, said the organization hopes to continue partnering and developing the technology used with the 3D printing. 'We would love to build more with this technology, especially because it's got that long-term savings for the homeowners," Green said.
