ACM, CSTA, and Code.org are working jointly with more than 100 advisors within the computing community (higher ed faculty, researchers, K-12 teachers, etc.) to steer a process to build a framework for K-12 CS Education. More information about the framework is available here: http://k12cs.org/

The first review period for the K-12 CS framework kicks off February 3rd with the release of the high school (grades 9-12) layer of concepts and descriptions of K-12 practices.  If you are interested in reviewing the draft framework, you can find instructions for individuals and facilitators of group reviews, an online review submission form, the review draft, and background materials at http://k12cs.org/review. The entire K-12 draft will be available for the second review period, March 14 to April 1.

Individuals and institutions are invited to be reviewers of the K-12 CS framework.  Feel free to forward this message to others whom you think might be interested.  Institutions, such as state/district departments of education and organizations (industry, companies, non-profits), are responsible for selecting an individual or a group to represent the institution.

Reminders:

•  Sign up at http://k12cs.org/ for updates.

•  To provide an effective review read the about, FAQ, and annotated presentation at http://k12cs.org/

•  There will be a public webinar (link) on February 3 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. Learn about the development of the framework and how to provide an effective review. The session will be recorded and link posted at http://k12cs.org/review

•  Reviewers can choose to participate in one or both of the two review periods:

o Feb 3 to Feb 17: Review of the 9-12 grade band concepts and K-12 practices

o March 14 to April 1: Review of the entire K-12 concepts and practices
