Joe Girardi Adds 'app Designer' to Résumé
Girardi created a family-friendly, multiplayer game with baseball elements that he could play with his kids.

Two years ago, Yankee manager Joe Girardi. He saw his children playing mobile apps on their phones and tablets, and decided he wanted to try his hand at creating one. Two years later, Girardi is the brains behind Portalball, a hybrid sci-fi baseball game that will be available for download in August.
Most fans would be shocked to know that Girardi now has "app designer" on his résumé. He's no tech savant, but not a nincompoop either, owning a bachelors in industrial engineering from Northwestern.
