Even before the ink had dried on her thesis, Deirdre Corr had a dilemma: which job offer should she take up?
She wasn't alone.
The tech sector is facing a severe skills shortage and the education system is not able to produce enough graduates to meet demand.
That is why policymakers are desperate to try to encourage more secondary school graduates to consider a career in computer science ahead of Ireland's Central Applications Office change-of-mind course scheduling deadline this Friday.
