A new survey claims that 95% of engineers in India are not fit to take up software development jobs, even as the country faces an acute shortage in IT and data science talent.
According to a study by employability assessment company Aspiring Minds, only 4.77% of job candidates can write the correct logic for a program — a minimum requirement for any programming job. And over two-thirds could not even write code that compiles, according to machine learning based assessment of software development skills of over 36,000 engineering students from IT related branches of over 500 colleges.
