It Workers Can Demand Higher Pay, More Benefits in 2018

When it comes to IT salaries in 2018, the good news for tech pros is quite good indeed: IT professionals are positioned to demand some hefty paychecks. This statistic from Robert Half 2018 IT Salary Guide is telling: "44% of CIOs say they miss out on top talent because candidates are seeking higher salaries than they're able to offer."
The law of supply and demand means that scarcity drives up prices, and top IT talent is certainly scarce. From Robert Half: "The persistent shortage of technology workers is no longer just an inconvenience for many employers – it's quickly becoming a serious business problem."
Translated: IT professionals shouldn't be afraid to ask — to demand — robust pay and benefits packages. Knowledgeable tech workers are in the position of power.
