Here is a list of the most popular languages on GitHub.
- JavaScript. First used for front-end programs, it has since given rise to an long list of frameworks, libraries, and software solutions.
- Java. It is driving at least 15 billion devices with over 10 million developers worldwide.
- Python. Notable features include extensive support for modules, easy integration with web services, and a GUI-based application for desktops.
- PHP. Created for web development, it features built-in capabilities for web services, the flawless embedding of server-side code into HTML, and a loosely typed syntax.
- C++. Created as an extension of C, this general purpose language offers powerful programming ability and flexibility.
- C#. A general-purpose, multi-paradigm programming language that enables users to work with generic, lexically scoped, declarative, imperative, object-oriented and component-oriented programming disciplines.
- TypeScript. An open-source language created and maintained by Microsoft as a strict syntactical superset of JavaScript for developing large applications. It features optional static typing and trans-compiles to JavaScript.
