Data science internships can help undergraduates kick start their careers in a highly competitive field. Internships during the lockdown will offer a different experience as companies navigate the downturn with insights into data. Interns will gain valuable experience on how to approach such a crisis with various data science techniques.

These companies are hiring data interns during the lockdown:

1. Amazon: An intern would be responsible for using statistical techniques for providing insights into users' data to guide decision-making and enhance customer experience.
2. SixSense. Interns at this Singapore-based company will work on building predictive models to forecast defects in manufacturing using data from different sensors, thereby automating the industrial processes.
3. Tangerine Innovation Labs. An intern will get to work on a slew of technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, security, simulation, among others.
4. GreenTech. An intern at this toll-management company will get to work with highway traffic data to deliver infrastructure sustainability.
5. AdmitKard. Interns will have to apply statistical techniques on data to gain insights that would help the company offer better counselling services for students choosing colleges.
6. CivilCops. Interns will have to work on natural language processing techniques that could cater to the needs of diverse users with voice assistance and chatbots.
