A global study of IT professionals reports a turbulent transition to COVID-driven work from home policies.

Only 36% of 1,216 respondents said the changes IT needed to support the transition to work from home was "smooth," and 9% said it was "painful."

The survey by One Identity of professionals from the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, France, Benelux, Nordics, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong was conducted between August 20 and September 3, 2020.

"Clearly IT and security teams scrambled to shift their systems to accommodate work from home in a secure and controlled way," said One Identity President Darrell Long. An executive summary is available.

62% of respondents said that cloud-based deployments are more important now than a year ago, and 50% said installing access technologies is a higher priority.
