Women In Crypto Field Say They Can Disrupt the Bitcoin 'Bro' Problem

As cryptocurrency has dug roots into mainstream trading, the stereotype of the know-it-all, mansplaining "bitcoin bro" has only intensified. Women in the sphere say the digital currency's anonymity can help them find a place in the sector.
While some have criticized crypto's "bro" tradition as being sexist, women within the sphere say the anonymity of crypto permits for greater inclusion. Others say the crypto bro doesn't signify the majority of what crypto merchants and miners really appear to be.
"You see numerous males; you don't see numerous ladies," says Karen Hsu, chief advertising and marketing officer of Appdome and co-founder of Blockchain by Ladies, a San Francisco meetup group.
The sparse numbers may be attributed to safety considerations. "Ladies are usually extra security-conscious," Hsu says. "There are hackers, it's unstable, there's greater danger than different investments, and numerous ladies say that they're involved about these points."
The issue may run deeper. "There's a tradition of ladies not being addressed and acknowledged in these areas," Hsu says.
