Purdue University will mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a variety of activities in October, including a "Capture the Flag" computer security competition which is open to the public. Hosted by the School of Business and Information Technology, the Jeopardy!-style event for single players will begin at 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 15 and last 72 hours, ending at 5 p.m. on Oct. 18. Most challenges will be at the beginner level; however, several intermediate and advanced challenges will be included.
The challenges will cover a variety of cybersecurity categories, including general topics, networking, cryptography, and software.
The competition will also be part of a research study. Players must consent to the research study and answer a few demographic questions before competing. Additional information is available from Professor Rhonda Chicone.
