Computer science is the second most preferred subject for Indian students looking to study abroad, a survey by INTO University Partnerships found. Twelve percent of both millennial and Gen Z students say they are interested in computer science — second only to engineering (18 percent).
The United States continues to be the top destination for Indian students (31 percent), followed by Canada (23 percent), and the U.K. (17 percent), according to the survey of over 1,250 Indian students.
The findings show that 35 percent of students choose a country as their study destination based on the job prospects in that country. Meanwhile, 33 percent of students choose their destination country for its higher quality of education, and 32 percent to get the right study experience, exposure, and expertise for their chosen field.
