Indian Student Wins World's Largest Coding Competition
TCS ranks CodeVita winners as the world's top coders.
Kalash Gupta, a computer science and engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, has been named the winner of the TCS CodeVita season 10 global coding competition, which drew over 100,000 contestants from 87 countries.
CodeVita is the world's largest computer programming competition, according to Guinness World Records. Coders from Chile and Taiwan were the contest's first and second runners-up, respectively. The contest was held by Tata Consultancy Services.
Gupta won prize money of $10,000. The first runner up, Mauricio Andres Cari Leal of Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, received $7,000, and the second runner up, Jeffrey Ho from National Tsing Hua University, received $3,000. The third runner up, Michal Stanik from Czech Republic, received $2,500. All four winners earned an internship opportunity with TCS' Research & Innovation organization.
