This summer, the hearts of college interns across tech collectively skipped a beat as layoffs and hiring freezes began to mount throughout the industry. The kids are probably going to be alright, though.

Amazon and Google are among the big-name employers that have said they don’t plan to scale back their recruitment of summer interns, while Microsoft interns said they are pleased with the prevalence of permanent job offers from the company. It turns out even Meta’s intern-hiring plans are not so bleak: The company’s top-performing interns have already received return offers.
