No, Remote Employees Aren't Becoming Less Engaged

One of the major driving arguments for bringing employees back to the workplace is that remote workers are becoming less engaged over time, resulting in less frequent and spontaneous interactions with colleagues that are vital for both organizational performance and innovation.

Research suggests the opposite. An analysis uncovered ways remote meetings have changed since the pandemic: they have become more frequent; they have become shorter; they have become smaller; and they have become more spontaneous.

Data also suggests that remote interactions are shifting to more closely mirror in-person interactions.
