Corporate return-to-office mandates represent the exception, not the rule, according to survey data from The Conference Board. Just 5% of CEOs in the U.S. and 2% in Europe cite returning workers to the physical workplace as a priority in 2023, the survey found.
Meanwhile, 5% of respondents say they would expand their hybrid work policies. Only 3% indicated they would decrease remote work. At the same time, many employees are pushing back strongly against return-to-office mandates.
In short, it's likely that 2023 will see a slight expansion of employees working remotely. The findings suggest that most companies are finding their hybrid workplace policy to be a successful solution for their organization.
