Research.com has published the 9th edition of its annual ranking of the world's 1,000 best computer scientists.
Over 14,400 scientist profiles were reviewed using various bibliometric sources, with a threshold for the D-index (discipline H-index) set at 30 for most computer science publications.
Computer scientists from the United States represent 583 or 58.3% of this year's ranking report. Following in the ranking are scientists from China (9.2%), the United Kingdom (6.4%), Germany (3.8%), and Canada (3.7%).
The top position is held by Anil K. Jain from Michigan State University, who has an h-index of 203 and also topped the 2022 rankings. Stanford University hosts the highest number of leading computer scientists, with 38. The average H-index for the list's top 1% of computer scientists is 175, versus the average of 90 for all 1,000 scientists included in the ranking.
