OpenAI has announced its Residency program, an initiative to enable researchers and engineers from diverse fields to transition into the world of AI and machine learning. Designed to bridge knowledge gaps to allow exceptional researchers and engineers in adjacent fields, such as mathematics, physics, or neuroscience, as well as software engineers, to pivot into AI research roles.
Program participants will collaborate with OpenAI's research teams to tackle real AI challenges while receiving an annual salary of $210,000, including benefits. The program is located at OpenAI's headquarters in San Francisco. Relocation assistance is available as needed. Applications are being accepted now.
"This program is an excellent way for people who are curious, passionate, and skilled to sharpen their focus on AI and machine learning," said OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
