Zoho Corp., IBM, Kyndryl, and Happiest Minds Technologies are among the tech firms that plan to increase hiring in India's Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in 2024. These cities include Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Mohali, Vadodara, Chandigarh, and Indore, which produce 12% to 15% of India's tech talent.

"Opening offices across smaller cities and rural areas takes us closer to a vast talent pool that is still untapped and awaiting an opportunity," says Praval Singh, vice president at Zoho.

"Location is no longer a barrier to talent," says Rajita Singh, chief people officer at Kyndryl India. "We can now hire exceptional individuals from anywhere in India, regardless of their city, and provide them with equal opportunities and career growth. Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are home to excellent universities and colleges churning out skilled graduates in STEM fields."
