Fabrizio Gagliardi, chair of the ACM Europe Council, says the organization has been working to bring the professional and academic computing community in Europe greater opportunities to contribute to European Commission-backed research programs.

ACM Europe was launched in October 2009 in Paris. Since then, the ACM Europe Council has grown to 21 members with a good mix of nationality (although mostly European, of course), gender, and research interests.
