American intelligence analysts are biased, and therefore make lousy decisions—even the spooky agencies admit that. The spy guys’ new hope for introducing some objectivity: Get the analysts to start playing a videogame.

"A Serious Game could provide an effective mechanism for exposing and mitigating cognitive bias," the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency announced Tuesday.

Iarpa, the blue-sky science-and-technology division of the intelligence community, is looking to gather potential developers for this "Sirius" initiative next month in Washington.
