Mozilla recently launched Thimble, an HTML tool designed to make it easy for novices to create Web sites.

Mozilla's Matt Thompson says Thimble makes it very simple for anyone to create and share their own Web pages and other projects in minutes.

Thimble is one of several apps to come out of the Mozilla Webmaker project, and Thompson says it is "an intuitive, visual editor that lets you write and edit HTML right in your browser, preview and correct your work, and then publish and share fully functional Web pages with a single click."

The Webmaker project aims to move people from using the Web to making the Web. Mozilla also recently announced a Webmaker Web site, which includes projects to help users learn how to use Thimble, and other Webmaker tools, such as Popcorn and X-Ray Goggles.

"We've got great new projects to help you do everything from tweaking your blog template, to making interactive videos, to creating fantastic three-dimensional Web pages," Thompson says.

Mozilla wants people around the world to use the new Mozilla tools and projects as part of the company's summer learning campaign, the Mozilla Summer Code Party, which starts June 23.
