Israel is recruiting top students between 16 and 18 years of age for a new cyberwarfare training program. The country reportedly has been developing the national program, called Magshimim Le'umit, for the past three years. Israel is facing online attacks from Iran and other countries, and the number of attacks will increase in the digital age, says Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
The program shows how Israel is advancing in the field of cybernetics to develop "high-quality human capital" in the country, says Eviatar Matania with the Israel National Cyber Bureau (INCB). The Israeli government also is using INCB to strengthen its efforts to defend against online attacks.
"We are one of the world's leaders in the field of cybernetics, and we must maintain this position," Netanyahu says. "Therefore, we will continue to cultivate the generation of the future."
