73% of Coding Bootcamp Graduates Employed Full-Time, Earn Salary Lift
A new survey of graduates of coding schools found most had full-time jobs that require the skills they learned in those schools.

Coding bootcamps have surged in popularity in recent years because they are accelerated intensive programs that attract technology-minded students looking to learn a range of skills.
A new Course Report study surveyed 1,143 graduates of 52 qualifying coding schools and found 73% are working full-time in jobs that utilize the skills acquired in bootcamps. In addition, the graduates reported an average salary increase of 64% compared to their salary before enrolling in a coding bootcamp.
The survey found the average coding bootcamp student is 30 years old with at least a bachelor's degree, and has never worked as a programmer. Eighty-nine percent of respondents enrolled at a bootcamp with the goal of finding a programming job.
The study also found about 43%of students are women, compared to just 15.7% in undergraduate computer science programs.
Coding bootcamp graduates working in San Francisco received the highest average salary, as did graduates who learned Python, according to the study.
