Batman's Kitchen Teaches w Students How to Play Cybersecurity
Batman's Kitchen, a cybersecurity group of University of Washington students, is ranked 34 out of 10,980 teams worldwide.

Batman's Kitchen is providing University of Washington (UW) students with the opportunity to learn about information security and practice their cybersecurity skills.
Open to students from all academic backgrounds, the group offers weekly workshops and conferences, which engage participants in individual research and puzzles to solve through trial and error, with support from peers. Members also have an opportunity to become part of the core team that participates in Capture the Flag (CTF) and Attack-Defense hacker competitions.
A group of students from the core team recently took third place at the U.S.-based CTF Cyber Security Awareness Week at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, and then represented the U.S. at the Trend Micro CTF competition in Tokyo, where they finished in fourth place.
The team currently ranks 33 out of 10,935 teams worldwide, and fourth place in the U.S.
About 700 students and alumni from the three UW campuses are involved in the group. The skills members gain also are helpful for finding work in the security industry.
