Ibm's Hub For Wearables Could Have You Out of the Hospital Faster
Scientists at IBM Research have created a device that aggregates health data from wearable devices and shares it with a patient's physician.

IBM Research scientists have created a device that siphons health data from multiple wearable devices and shares the results with a patient's doctor.
Patients' health can be monitored through a smart watch or fitness band so they can be sent home from the hospital earlier than they might otherwise have been allowed.
The data is sent to the IBM Cloud, analyzed, and delivered to users. If the devices identify a serious problem, a doctor can be alerted immediately and an ambulance can be sent to help.
The prototype is about the size of a grapefruit and reacts to a user's voice commands.
IBM researcher Bruno Michel says the company is not planning to develop wearables, but instead envisions the service as a platform on which other companies can build and connect their own health tools.
