Ireland Announces Major Investment in R&d Centers

The Irish government has decided funding of 45.7 million euros for three 'Center for Science, Engineering and technology.' These research centers are hosted by universities and aim to develop collaborations between public research and industry. The government also announced 300 million euros for the Program for Research in Third Level Institutions which funds research infrastructure in higher education institutions in Ireland. Finally, a venture capital fund with 500 million euros will be established.

These measures have the objective of making Ireland a knowledge-based economy and encourage businesses to invest in R & D centers in Ireland.
