niversity in North Carolina Issues Degrees sing Blockchain
Graduates of one university in North Carolina can have their degrees issued and stored digitally via Blockchain.

East Coast Polytechnic Institute University (ECPI) graduates can now receive and digitally store degrees with blockchain technology, which delivers secure, immediate verification.
ECPI said attaching records to the blockchain offers the most innovative form of digital document security; these digital credentials could reduce false claims on resumes, since employers will be able to instantly authenticate an applicant's educational background.
Blockchain also permits graduates to add secure links to the information on their resumes, public portfolios, or job applications.
ECPI said blockchain manages information in small units called "blocks," which are connected via cryptography; each block tags and connects the information with a timestamp and other transaction data.
Students control their official records and can share their degrees and/or professional certificates publicly on social media profiles, or send them privately by email or text message using the "share icon" in the Blockcerts app, and with its own unique URL.
