Sports viewing is expected to become more accessible, interactive, and personalized, through new technologies like virtual reality (VR).

Examples include the Oculus Go VR headset, allowing users to watch from more intimate perspectives than conventional TV offers, and Intel's True View, which uses multiple cameras to expand field views in three dimensions.

Advances in analytics also hold the promise of enabling fans to access details and stats of specific players.

More interactive and immersive offerings are on the horizon as well, with sports fans being able to chat virtually on websites like Twitch, or provide real-time feedback during gameplay.
