Students at the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering have developed an Android app built specifically for teachers in developing countries that may have limited or no Internet access.
The Mobile Teacher app allows teachers to share videos of their effective teaching techniques with their peers and learn from each other; the app works offline, allowing users to view and share videos without the need for Internet access.
Said USC's Byron Li, "I think the altruistic approach for computer science is definitely increasing in popularity, and because of that hopefully we will end up seeing more and more use of technology in humanitarian contexts."
