Fever-Detecting Goggles, Disinfectant Drones: Countries Turn to Tech to Fight Coronavirus

Health officials across the Asia-Pacific region are working to repurpose existing technology to help stop the coronavirus pandemic.
These decision makers are using smartphone-based location tracking to identify the movements of suspected cases, developing government-run apps to monitor individuals' health, and monitoring people's temperature in the street with thermal goggles.
In South Korea, the government launched a "Self-Quarantine Safety Protection" tracking app to make sure individuals stay in quarantine zones. Private drone companies in the country have been deployed to help disinfect public places; a single drone can hold about 2.5 gallons of disinfectant, which will cover an area of up to 105,000 square feet.
Meanwhile, officials in Singapore are asking citizens to keep track of their own movements with QR codes. People scan the codes, and are led to a webpage where they are asked to input their names and contact information, and sometimes to declare their health status.
