Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers have developed a Web-based Covid-19 testing impact calculator.
MIT's Anette Hosoi said, "The calculator allows you to do a cost analysis of different trade-offs and enables rational decisions for deploying testing within an organization."
The calculator accepts organization size, the percentage of reliable mask-wearers, the use of contact tracing, and the greatest number of people who interact closely without masks, as inputs. From this and other information, the model estimates how many people to test daily and weekly testing cost.
MIT's Munther Dahleh said, "We’ve built a tool that we think can really help businesses, schools, and all kinds of organizations to navigate some of the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic."
