Brazilian Government Launches Toolkit to Support Data Protection Compliance
The Brazilian government has launched a system to mitigate security risks stemming from non-compliance with its General Data Protection Regulations within federal government bodies.

Brazil's Digital Government Secretariat (DGS) has rolled out a toolkit to facilitate central government agencies' compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and help ensure the rules are applied effectively.
DGS indicated this is important as more services are delivered online.
The Ministry of Economy's Luis Felipe Monteiro said, "The [general data protection legislation] requires much more transparency and adequate management of citizens' data than the federal government agencies [previously] had to deal with for public policies."
The DGS platform enables data protection officers to assess 14 different risk levels and investigate possible security and privacy gaps in agency systems, contracts, and processes involving personal data.
