More Than Half of Europeans Want to Replace Lawmakers with AI, Study Says
More than half of Europeans polled would prefer artificial intelligence replace some lawmakers, a new survey found.

Most Europeans would prefer artificial intelligence (AI) replace some lawmakers, according to a study by researchers at IE University's Center for the Governance of Change in Spain.
The researchers polled 2,769 people from 11 countries worldwide on handing over the duties of national parliamentarians in their country to an AI that would have access to their data; 51% of Europeans supported this.
Not all respondents were comfortable with the idea, as machines can be hacked or act in ways that are undesirable to humans.
Younger respondents, however, seemed more willing to consider the proposal.
IE University's Oscar Jonsson said the results reflect a growing animus toward politicians, amid a general public perception of politics getting worse.
