Mozilla Partners with Princeton Researchers for Privacy-Focused Data Sharing Platform on Firefox
Mozilla has unveiled a new data sharing platform designed to provide users with greater control over how they share their data.

The Mozilla Web browser's newly-launched Rally data sharing platform is designed to strengthen users' data privacy.
Mozilla said the Firefox add-on lets users contribute their information to research that will concentrate on developing new resources, tools, and "potentially even policies that empower people just like you to build a better Internet and fight back against exploitative tech."
Mozilla's Rebecca Weiss said, "The researchers behind each project will have better quality data, with a clear understanding of the source, and confidence that it's compliant with data privacy regulations."
Mozilla has partnered with Princeton's University's Jonathan Mayer and colleagues to assemble tools for collecting and managing user data, including a Princeton study on misinformation about politics and COVID-19.
Mayer said with academic research on online services long stunted, "Rally flips the script and enables a new ecosystem of technology policy research."
