Kitchen Robot in Riga Cooks Up Fast Food Future

A kitchen robot has been preparing fast food at the Roboeatz cafe in Riga, Latvia, while diners watch since January 2018.
Fast food chain owners Konstantins Korcjomkins and Janis Poruks hope to revolutionize the industry with such robots, which Poruks said can replace as many as six human workers.
Roboeatz's designers said the robot is engineered to assume some food preparation tasks while improving food safety and removing the infection risks of crowded kitchens.
The machine can be programmed to make hundreds of recipes, accounting for the owner's tastes and food allergies.
Poruks emphasized that such kitchen robots should not result in significant job losses, but simply replace people working in undesirable low-paid jobs.
