Programming Languages: Rust Developers Earn Higher Salaries, but It's Not All Good News
The O'Reilly report found salary increases remain elusive for developers this year.

Technology training company O'Reilly surveyed 3,136 U.K. and U.S. software developers to assess trends in the data and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors.
A third (34%) of respondents reported earning between $100,000 and $150,000 annually, while 26% made $150,000 to $200,000.
The highest-paid developers, earning an average of $180,000 annually, used the Rust programming language, while those who used Python earned about $150,000.
O'Reilly's Mike Loukides said Rust developers' high compensation reflects their rarity, while abundant Python programmers easily meet employer demand.
Data and AI professionals' wages have only risen by an average 2.25% per year over the past three years, despite most respondents training or attaining new certifications in past months.
O'Reilly's Laura Baldwin said, "Given the shortage of qualified employees in fields like data science, machine learning, and AI, companies that are serious about building out their workforces must invest in learning and training to grow this talent internally."
