Trust Still at Heart of NHS COVID App Reluctance
A new study has found that issues of trust continue to be at the heart of peoples reluctance to download and use the U.K. National Health Service App.

A survey of more than 1,000 U.K. residents aged 16 to 75 by the U.K.'s University of Nottingham showed high compliance among the approximately 50% of participants who had downloaded the NHS (National Health Service) App.
However, issues related to trust and understanding negatively impacted adoption and the effectiveness of digital contact tracing.
About 27.4% of respondents did not plan to download the app for reasons including not wanting to be tracked, believing the app was ineffective, and a lack of trust.
About 8.4% of respondents deleted the app because they thought it was ineffective or did not want to be tracked.
Nottingham's Liz Dowthwaite said, "It is extremely important to engage the potential users of such technologies at the design stages of these technologies, to identify barriers to use before they are released, in order to enhance uptake."
