Amazon's launch of its first dedicated e-reader for newspapers, magazines, and textbooks points to a future when digital and analog publishing begins to merge. With increased graphics resolution and a 9.7-inch diagonal screen that's nearly double the size of the book giant's popular Kindle 2 e-reader, the $489 wireless Kindle DX is a departure from previous e-readers on the market.
"Cookbooks, computer books, and textbooks — anything highly formatted — shine on the Kindle DX," said Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com founder and CEO. The New York Times and The Washington Post announced they will deliver editions to Kindle DX starting this summer.
