Apple recently released patches for two critical zero-day vulnerabilities discovered by an anonymous researcher that affect the operating systems of iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
One of the vulnerabilities, residing in macOS for Monterey and iOS or iPadOS for most iPhone and iPad models, involves an out-of-bounds write issue and allows hackers to execute malicious code that runs with privileges of the kernel.
The second vulnerability is associated with an out-of-bounds read issue, potentially resulting in the disclosure of kernel memory.
Apple issued patches for three other zero-days earlier this year.
