The rise of ransomware and other cyberattacks have cybersecurity specialists working multiple cases simultaneously and dealing with the resulting stress. The amount of work required of incident responders has increased as the availability of remote tools makes on-site work unnecessary, allowing them to handle multiple jobs at once.
During the pandemic, when offices were closed and more people worked from home, incident responders often worked around the clock. A new survey from IBM found that 68% of the 1,100 incident responders polled were assigned multiple jobs, and 64% have sought mental-health assistance for insomnia, burnout, and anxiety.
