German automaker BMW's latest prototype car showcased at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023) features a retooled interior that applies concepts from Apple's own future car project.

BMW's Oliver Zipse said the i Vision Dee concept car "will integrate seamlessly into your digital lives to become a true driving companion."

The vehicle, while using Amazon voice recognition know-how, features software mostly developed by BMW in a bid to shut out tech giants.

Drivers can select five levels of information to be displayed, including speed and augmented reality, with navigation cues laid over the road. Dee, the car's voice-controlled assistant, registers the driver's identity to open the door automatically.

BMW said new models also will boast a head-up display across the windshield, which Zipse said will minimize distraction.
