Israeli engineers and German gamers partnered to build an accurate virtual model of Jerusalem's Yad Vashem Museum and an educational exhibition in the online gameworld of Minecraft.

The Build The Earth Germany and Build Israel collectives led the project with assistance from Israeli three-dimensional modeling company Simplex.

Minecraft also hosts simulations of Israeli sites such as the Old City of Jerusalem, Masada, Rabin Square, Dizengoff Street, and the Knesset.

The Yad Vahsem model and exhibition were unveiled to the public on International Holocaust Day on Jan. 27. Millions of Minecraft players worldwide also can access the exhibition, which commemorates the Holocaust.
