Scientists at North Carolina State University (NC State), Brookhaven National Laboratory, and Spain's Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) developed a new robot for advancing semiconductor materials discovery.

The RoboMapper platform was able to identify more efficient and stable perovskite materials by automating materials testing at lower cost and energy consumption.

NC State's Aram Amassian said the technology uses modern printing to miniaturize material samples, placing dozens on each chip.

NC State's Tonghui Wang described the system as "nearly 10 times faster than previous automated techniques," while URJC's Lucía Serrano-Luján said RoboMapper cut greenhouse gas emissions 10-fold compared to traditional material research.
