Japan Show Provides Glimpse of Robots as Future of Rescue Efforts
Visitors to the Japan Mobility Show got a vision of the future of rescue in the disaster-prone country, including exoskeletons.

The Japan Mobility Show highlighted robotic technologies that could help address the nation's aging population and worker shortage by assisting, or replacing in some instances, humans to handle dangerous tasks.
Attraclab has developed a small delivery robot and a remote-controlled stretcher, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries has developed a humanoid robot that can lift and move injured people.
Additionally, Sugino Machine has developed a robotic arm attached to crawlers that can perform initial damage assessments or remove debris.
However, Attraclab's Tomoyuki Izu said the government currently favors "traditional equipment."
Said Izu, "There's a lots of anime with humanoid robots in Japan, and therefore people love them. But these kinds of autonomous vehicles are still very strange for them."
