Researchers at China's Nanchang University have developed a visible light communication (VLC) equalizer based on a single-order circuit.
VLC systems are great at transmitting torrents of data, but to be widely adopted they must be made as simple as possible.
The researchers sought to develop an equalizer able to extend the LED bandwidth without the need for more complex second-order circuits.
Equalizers aim to compensate for distortion during the sending and receiving of signals.
Nanchang's Xiaodong Liu said, "The proposed hybrid active-passive single-order scheme aims to strike a balance by incorporating an active module into the single-order passive circuit structure. This approach seeks to enhance bandwidth while maintaining stability and reducing design complexity."
