Unfinished Video Games Are Turning into Hits

In the video game industry, early access titles are available to anyone who is interested.

The scope of the video game Vampire Survivors grew considerably during its early access period, in which players gave feedback to the studio.

Video game developers are benefiting from early access periods.

In addition to raising the funds needed to complete or expand a game, developers can obtain feedback from players and make adjustments to meet their expectations before the final version is released.

Smaller, independent studios, in particular, benefit by identifying and fixing technical bugs earlier in the process.

Valheim's Jonathan Smars said open-ended games with replayability are better suited to the early access model than narrative-driven games with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
