Ellen Zegura, chair of the Computing Community Consortium's (CCC) Network Science & Engineering (NetSE) Council, released a report during the GENI Engineering Conference in Seattle on improving the Internet. The Network Science and Engineering (NetSE) Research Agenda summarizes the current state of the security, accessibility, predictability, and reliability of the Internet, and offers recommendations for making improvements in these areas. The CCC in 2008 authorized the NetSE Council to pursue the comprehensive report.
The research agenda is meant for members of the computing research community, funding agencies, and policymakers. Moreover, it offers the targeted audiences a framework for supporting the development of the Internet.
