Robots are slowly becoming more and more common in our daily lives, and now a Japanese couple has become the first in the world to be wed by a robot.
The robot, dubbed I-Fairy, was designed by Kokoro to be used in roles such as a presenter, museum guide or even a receptionist, usually repeating pre-programmed movements and sounds. The wedding scenario was a little trickier, so it was operated by a hidden puppeteer who controlled it via computer.
The bride actually works at Kokoro, and her husband is a professor of robotics at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology. text here
