Indian Students Head For Canada to Join Research Internships

Some of the brightest Indian students will be spending this summer in Canada taking part in cutting-edge research internships at Canadian universities.

According to the Canadian High Commission, as part of MITACS Globalink internship program, 105 undergraduate Indian students are working on a number of research projects alongside undergraduate and graduate Canadian students under the supervision of Canadian faculty members. In addition, they will receive business skills training through the MITACS Step Program, tour cutting-edge companies and network with industry leaders and innovators.

The students will take up internships at University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, York University, McMaster University, Carleton University, Queen's University, Ryerson University, University of Western Ontario, University of Waterloo, University of Ottawa, University of Toronto, University of Guelph, and University of New Brunswick.

 "Canada has world-class universities that provide superior education and innovative collaborative research opportunities and companies interested in helping students to commercialize their ideas into the products of tomorrow," says Arvind Gupta, scientific director of MITACS.
